COMET Comprehensive Mentoring Technologies

Informatics is the science of information. As an academic field it involves the practice of information processing, and the engineering of information systems. It studies the structure, algorithms, behavior, and interactions of natural and artificial systems which store, process, access, and communicate information.

Since 2008, the COMET team has been working to support the success of children.

COMET Informatics was developed out of a partnership between two leading experts in their fields: A. Dirk Hightower, Ph.D., Executive Director (former) Children's Institute, a center of excellence in supporting the social and emotional health of children, has been working with communities, schools and other not-for-profits for over 30 years in an effort to support the success of children; and Serge Lossa, Ph.D., CEO SophiTEC, Inc., a software development firm specializing in web-based, database applications.

At our core, we are a child-centric software that specializes in the assessments, outcomes measures, and organizational data of child-serving organizations. This is accomplished by taking large quantities of data and quickly converting it into meaningful information to help drive the improvement and outcomes of students, teachers, and programs.

COMET works with educators, parents, program providers, policymakers, and researchers to support many types of early childhood education programs.
