- Client record setup
In preparation for the actual agreement between COMET and the Customer, a "New Client Form" is
completed which provides the elements for creating the "client record" and initial client
setup. On behalf of the COMET Primary Administrator (CPA), the COMET team creates the client
records and inputs information as provided in the New Client Form.
Based on input from the CPA, the COMET team sets the timeframe for when instruments are
available for completion and the classes' schedules for attendance recording purposes.
- Load initial lists of students and schools
Based on lists provided electronically by the client, the COMET team loads basic setup
information which includes, students, teachers, and class lists.
- Load the system with users such as teachers, administrators, and other child professionals
Also based on electronic data provided by the customer, the COMET team creates new users
according to the training schedules and the first use of COMET by each group of end-users.
- Automatic e-mail messages sent to new users with account setup information
The "First Login email" is sent automatically by COMET. The COMET team monitors exceptions and
incidents associated with this first login email such as wrong email addresses, and rejection
of COMET emails by the Client's email server.
- If applicable, configure test environment
Setting up a test environment is sometimes requested to allow administrators and/or actual
end-users to explore the system without any consequences on the actual production database.
-
Train the trainer services
Our experience shows that most end-users are able to use COMET without any formal training.
Often, providing a formal training to a few key users reduces the anxiety provided by the
introduction of a new system and allows for setting proper expectations.
- How-to capability
When users encounter problems COMET offers a library of resources called "How-to." These
condensed training materials help you solve problems like "How-to recover my user ID or
password" or "How-to complete an instrument."
